WFMT – LISTENING TO SINGERS: ART SONG CHICAGO WITH NICHOLAS PHAN
Grammy-winning tenor Nicholas Phan joins WFMT to preview the 2026 Collaborative Works Festival (September 23–26), an annual celebration of art song performance explored through one topic, theme, or idea. This year’s festival programs chart a progression: from communion with nature, to contemplation of its power, to a reckoning with our impact upon it.
REVIEWS FOR ‘Lamenting Earth’
“…This album succeeds as both an artistic achievement and a genuine invitation to listen carefully to the environmental crisis. The ensemble demonstrates that art song tradition remains a vital medium for addressing contemporary urgency.”
