I hope you had a wonderful September and that your concert season and/or academic year is getting off to a beautiful start!
September seemed to fly by, starting with some very moving concerts at CAIC's annual Collaborative Works Festival in Chicago. I was so proud of these programs, and if you missed them, fret not: CAIC will be broadcasting them in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for news about that at CAIC's website and social media platforms.
Following the Chicago festival, I jumped into a week of guest teaching at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music that was capped with a Master Class. I was so impressed by not only the talent of these young singers, but also their openness and curiosity. It was an incredibly rewarding week. On the educational front, I also taught a master class at the Longy School of Music, where I was happy witness the same sense of adventure and commitment to learning. It's left me feeling that the future of singing is very bright, indeed.
In the final week of the month, I also reunited with my dear colleagues, Palaver Strings, for a performance of our Change is Gonna Come project at Longy, paired with a week of recording sessions for an upcoming album centered around the program (check out a picture from our sessions above!). We are all so excited to share this project with the world and were thrilled with all of the wonderful material we captured during our recording sessions. It sounds like an album release is planned for next Spring, and of course, I will keep you updated here as I have more news to share.
A lot of this fall is devoted to recording projects - one of my greatest passions as a musician. In just a few weeks, I will be starting another recording project which will have its first sessions towards the end of this month in the United Kingdom: a recording of Rebecca Clarke's songs. I really look forward to sharing more about this project in the coming months, as I am able to divulge more details!

EMMANUEL MUSIC BACH INSTITUTE DEADLINE APPROACHING!

The Bach Institute’s Winter Intensive at Emmanuel Music takes place January 4-15, 2024, and I’ll be a special guest working with the Institute’s Fellows on Bach arias and participating in panel discussions during the intensive.
