REBECCA CLARKE: HER LEGACY REVEALED – A NEW DOCUMENTARY

I filmed and produced a new short documentary — Rebecca Clarke: Her Legacy Revealed — which premieres today on YouTube.

Rebecca Clarke: Her Legacy Revealed is a 40-minute documentary film exploring the life, music, and enduring influence of pioneering British composer Rebecca Clarke. Filmed during the sessions for the album Rebecca Clarke: The Complete Songs (Signum Classics, November 7 2025), the documentary features tenor Nicholas Phan, mezzo-soprano Kitty Whately, pianist Anna Tilbrook, baritone Roderick Williams OBE, and Clarke’s great-nephew and archivist Christopher Johnson.

Through newly filmed performances, archival materials, and intimate interviews, the film traces Clarke’s remarkable journey as a composer and performer, examining how gender shaped her career and legacy, and why her music continues to resonate with audiences today.

Directed and produced by Nicholas Phan, with audio by Simon Kiln and photography courtesy of Christopher Johnson, Rebecca Clarke: Her Legacy Revealed invites viewers to rediscover one of the 20th century’s most vital yet under-recognized musical voices.
